Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Molik collects through molik.app, the waitlist and prebooking, why, and what you can do about it. Molik is not open for use yet; we’ll update this policy before the product launches.
Who we are
Molik is run by Anish B Ghosh, based in Howrah, India. For anything about your data, use our contact form.
What we collect

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. Your card details go to Dodo, not to us; we receive your name, email address, country, the amount paid and a payment reference. We don’t collect business data files at this stage. We use only essential cookies. To count visits, your browser keeps a random ID and the campaign link that brought you, so we can tell new visitors from returning ones. They aren’t tied to your name or email, and clearing your browser’s site data removes them.
Your consent, and taking it back
When you join the waitlist, you agree to us using your data for the purposes above. You can withdraw that consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by sending us a message through our contact form. Once you do, we’ll stop using your data and delete it within 30 days, unless we’re legally required to keep something.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with the services that help us run Molik, and only so they can do that work for us:
- DigitalOcean: runs the website
- MongoDB Atlas: stores waitlist signups, prebookings, contact form messages and site visit counts
- Dodo Payments: processes prebook payments as our merchant of record
- Resend: sends prebook confirmation emails
Some of these providers may store or process data outside India. We’ll share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist data until 12 months after Molik launches, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. After that, we delete it.
If you prebook, we keep your prebook and payment records while you’re a member, and after that for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- show you the data we hold about you
- correct or update it
- delete it
- stop emailing you
- nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you’re unable to
To make a request, use our contact form. We’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re in the EU or UK, you also have the rights given by the GDPR, including objecting to processing and getting a copy of your data.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, send a message to our grievance contact, Anish B Ghosh, through our contact form. We’ll respond within 30 days. In India, you can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India; in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your data, such as encrypted connections and limited access. If a breach affects your data, we’ll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Children
Molik is for businesses. It isn’t meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll email people on the waitlist before it takes effect.
